Ray's got a lot of fights to do today, some of which Ailey didn't do. No better time to get started!

Pokemon Ultra Moon Groundium Z: Grand Trial of Poni Island

Now then, the first thing we do happens immediately after Mina's Trial, but I felt it fit better in here.

Hapu and, strangely, Hala show up to introduce us to USUM's Grand Trial. Just an introduction, though.

Surprise! Exeggutor Island is now a Trial site! Nanu doesn't have a proper Trial site, just dumping his Grand Trial on us before we sail off to Aether Paradise, but Hala and Olivia challenged us in Iki Town's ceremonial challenge site and the Ruins of Life, respectively. Hapu getting delayed allows her to choose her site freely.

Hapu shares some words with Hala, and then wanders off to Exeggutor Island. We have to travel there manually, but first we need to talk to Hala.

Oh hey, that's neat! Hau's textually gone back to Hala and got his Melemele Grand Trial certification. Honestly, doing his Mina Trial might give him the chance to finish up any Trials he's missed along the way. I'm not sure which ones, but he's the one that needs to know.

Well, that's nice to know, but I'm not sure what you came to me specifically for? I guess you just wanted to gush about your grandson? There are worse things to do, I suppose.

Pokemon Ultra Moon Fairium Z: The Final Trial

Immediately following the cutscene on the Altar of the Sunne/Moone, there will be a short event to direct you to your next objective. We'll be discussing USUM's first, since this is an additional event that leads into what SM is doing.

Yeah, it's gonna be a bit before Bethany comes back.

Slightly amusing that Mina paid more of an interest in the events at the Altar than Hapu in USUM, despite her ostensibly minding her own business at home instead of following us.

Yeah, there wasn't anything for you to be worried about here. There was a bit of a bottleneck, really.

Now that we've finished up our business with Nebby, our next objective is to go back to our island challenge and complete Mina's new Trial.

The Trial starts over in Seafolk Village, and Mina asks if we want to be teleported there.

I mean, sure, but Ailey's going to do so more to heal and prepare her Ultra Warp Rides than because she's actually in the market to start your Trial immediately. She needs to rejigger her team, anyway.

Following her home is honestly just a good way of refreshing your memory on which house is hers. This was never relevant to SM, and hasn't been relevant to USUM either thus far.

Pokemon Alola Bonus: Ultra Warp Ride

Consider this update, for the most part, non-canonical: Both Ray and Ailey got a new Electric type to use as a paralyser, and of course, they're filling out their Pokedexes with some of the new finds, but aside from that, I don't intend to seriously use anything we find in here in a real fight. But there's plenty to find, and we might as well look!

"Return to the Ultra Wormhole" will send us into the Ultra Warp Ride. We'll sit through the tutorial again (although it will always show the Legendary you're using, which might be why), and then we're free to see the full mechanic.

White wormholes are still available in the full mechanic. They're the ones that have new Pokedex entries, so look forward to that.

Two different setpieces, but we'll be seeing them both here. First, of course, Noah handling Lusamine.

Now, it's USUM's turn. Ailey'll be the one exploring the Altar of the Moone, and what she'll find will differ from what Bethany found.

...Sadly, that did not stretch to a shorter staircase.

I thought Bethany was going to get a new team member, but the typing turned out poorly enough that I wound up giving him to Ray. Still, though, there's multiple options in here.

...Looks like the same statues around the Lake of the Moone. Not that this gets me any closer to an answer.

Well, glad you were looking through Lusamine's old stuff for cool stuff too. Surprised there aren't any TMs in there- I guess Psychic was enough for her.
